The basque law on labour mobility more efficient and sustainable

The basque law on labour mobility more efficient and sustainable

Mobility to work is a fundamental aspect of the lives of millions of people around the world and it is therefore important to have a good plan for mobility to work. In addition, an important step has been taken in our community to promote a more efficient and sustainable mobility with the Mobility to Work Law of the Basque Country.

Mobility to work in the Basque Country must move forward. That is why the plans for mobility to work must respect the new law, which aims to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, reduce traffic congestion and reduce polluting emissions. To achieve this, a series of measures have been introduced to encourage the use of more efficient and sustainable means of transport, to be taken into account in a mobility to work plan.

The Basque law on labour mobility should be one of the key elements of a strategic plan for mobility to work. This law aims to encourage companies and workers to adopt more sustainable transport alternatives, thus reducing dependence on private vehicles. Among the measures envisaged in this law on transport and mobility are financial aid for companies to promote the use of public transport or the distribution of public transport among their employees, as well as the creation of a company bicycle programme and the installation of adequate infrastructures for the use of public transport.

Giving company staff the opportunity to work from home can be another measure to promote sustainable urban mobility. This not only reduces the need for commuting, but also contributes to greater work flexibility and a better work-life balance.

SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY PLAN (SMUSP)

Sustainable mobility has become a priority for cities and regions around the world. The approval of plans and regulations such as the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) and the Basque Work Mobility Law reinforces the commitment to find solutions that are more respectful of the environment and improve the quality of life of residents.

At Ingartek we advise you on all this. Mobility to work is a fundamental aspect of our society and the Basque Country has taken important steps to promote more sustainable and efficient mobility. Thus, through a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan and the Mobility for Work Act, the use of more sustainable alternative means of transport is encouraged, teleworking is promoted and the appropriate infrastructure is created for it.
