Subsidies for companies that carry out mobility to work plans
The Bizkaia Deputy for Mobility, Transport, Mobility and Tourism has announced her department’s intention to implement a subsidy programme aimed at companies in the territory for the development of their own Workplace Mobility Plans, already compulsory in the Basque Country for companies with more than 100 workers per shift.
SUBSIDIES FOR MOBILITY-TO-WORK PLANS IN THE BASQUE REGION
A Workplace Mobility Plan promotes the use of active mobility modes and reduces the dependence on private vehicles among company staff. This measure is already compulsory in the Basque Country and is expected to become compulsory throughout Spain in the near future.
The PMCT or Mobility to Work Plans are an effective way of managing the mobility and transport of an organisation, thus guaranteeing the safety and sustainability of employees’ journeys to the workplace.
For the moment, the Basque Government has announced subsidies for companies located in Bizkaia, however, it remains to be seen which path other provinces will take as well.
